A New Jail Addition to Existing Washburn County Law Enforcement Center

The proposed 55,000 SF addition consists of three floors with jail support on the first floor and jail housing on the second and third floors. Also proposed is a dedicated secure corridor for inmates, jail staff, public, and judicial services to access the Judicial Courts in a safe manner. Once the new addition is completed, the existing jail area will be renovated for additional jail support needs. 

 

The proposed project will provide improved inmate classifications, reduced inmate transfer costs, enhanced programming, and better safety conditions for staff, inmates, and the public. The facility is designed for the current needs of Washburn County, as well as 30 years into the future.
